Itinerary

Day 1: Tehran – Overnight in Sangdeh (3. 5 hrs Drive)

Early in the morning starting our fascinating journey to the North-East of Iran, we’ll drive to Dodangeh protected area close to Sangdeh village.
After a bit rest and having traditional lunch at a local house, we’ll have a light trekking toward Mersisi or Rash jungle a part of hyrcanian forests full of beech trees. Rush forest is one of the best natural destination close to Tehran to be visited in autumn.

Day 2: Sangdeh - badaab surt (3 hrs Drive)

First day of waking up in Iran Hyrcanian forests. Drive to the stepped springs of Badab-e Surt, also known as Seven Color stepped springs. Badab-e Surt is a rich mineral water flowing down from terraces on a hill, making a wonderful landscape for its visitors. Badaab Sourt spring in Iran is one of the 7 terrace springs in the world and after Pamukkale, it is the second enlisted salty stream.

Day 3: Badab Soort –bastam - kharaghan (3 hrs Drive)

Drive toward Damghan, Shahroud, Bastam and Kharghan. Based on time visiting Tarikhaneh Mosque in Damghan. Tarikhaneh is one of the Sassanid temples which turned into a mosque later in Islamic era.
Keep driving and visiting Kashaneh Tower, which is believed to be a fire temple in Sassanid era. The visiting tombs of two great Sufis, Bayazid Bastami Tomb and Sheikh Hassan Kharghhani Tomb.

A wonderful day walking and relaxing up in the clouds. The cloud forest located in north east of Iran, are a part of Caspian Hyrcanian 20-25 milion years old forests and known as the border of Heaven and Earth. To reach to the magnificent ocean of clouds and unique waterfalls and forest parts, we’ll have a few hours trekking through jungle.
At Jangale Abr or Cloud forest many streams and waterfalls are hosting their visitors, like Aluchan waterfall, Torsh and Ghatri springs.
After enjoying the day in Iran Hyrcanian cloud forest, we’ll drive toward Torkaman port (Bandar Torkaman).
Based on time, seeing sunset next to Caspian seashore.

Day 5: Bandar Torkaman – Ashooradeh – Behshahr (1 hr)

Today we’ll visit the only Island of Caspian Sea, called Ashooradeh. Ashooradeh or Ashur Ada Island is a part of Miankaleh wildlife sanctuary and wetland, which has the richest resource of Persian Caviar. Miankaleh is one of the best places to do bird watching, birds like Flamingos, Eagles, Swans, green ducks and …. The best time for bird watching near Caspian Sea is November to March.
We’ll take a boat from Bandar Torkaman to Ashooradeh or Ashur Ada Island, visiting the unique Flora and Fiona of the region and swimming in the sea.
After visiting Ashuradeh Island, we’ll come back to Bandar Torkaman, visiting the local bazaar (only Mondays) drive toward Behshahr, Overnight in Behshahr.

Day 6: Behshahr- Abbas Abad lake - Dashte Naz- Nowshahr (3.5 hrs)

Visiting Abbas Abad Lake, surrounded with old trees and with a nice little structure remained from Saffavid area. Abbas Abad Garden is one of UNESCO world heritage Persian gardens and it’s one of the must be visited places in north Iran.
If you are planning to visit North of Iran in autumn (November), don’t miss visiting Abbas Abad eye catching Garden.
Drive to Dashte Naz protected area, there we can visit some kinds of Persian wild animals, like Persian fallow deers, Red deers, Roe deers and jungle cats.
From 21st of March to 21st of June, deers will give birth to their child. During this period we’ll visit Babolsar Seashore instead of Dashte Naz area to let deers have their peaceful home and their needed comfort without any thread feeling.

Day 7: Nowshahr - Chalus – Tehran (4.5 hrs)

Chalus road, also known as Kandovan road is one of the most beautiful roads in Iran, which connects Tehran to the Caspian Sea. This mountain road passing from beautiful jungles, with a fresh air. There are several restaurants on the road to stop, have a coffee or a delicious lunch.
