Itinerary
1 Day: Mashhad
We arrive in Mashhad one of the three holy cities of Iran. Mashhad, which means "place of martyrdom", owes its fame for the shrine of Imam Reza. Today we will visit the Mausoleum of Imam Reza (outside only) and the surrounding buildings such as Gohar Shad Mosque, dating back to the fifteenth century, embellished with a blue-tiled façade and a turquoise dome. There will be time for visiting colorful bazaar.
2 Day: Mashhad - Kalat –e Naderi – Toos - Mashhad
Full-day excursion to the beautiful natural fortress of Kal'ate-Naderi, which was headquarters of Nader Shah during the military campaign in India in the eighteenth century: and visit the palace of Khorshid (Sun) in Kalat Naderi. Then we will return to Mashhad and on the way stop in Toos, a place inextricably linked to the Persian poet of the eleventh century Ferdowsi, beloved and venerated author of the Persian epic Shahnameh (The Book of Kings). We will visit Ferdowsi Tomb and two galleries which surrounded by a garden. And then we will visit Haruniyeh dome. Return to Mashhad.
3 Day: Mashhad-Neyshabour-Mashhad
Today we have an excursion to Neyshabour. The city was founded around the 3rd century AD and during the Seljuk period it was a flourishing literary, artistic and academic center. First, we will go to visit the most famous eclectic poet Omar Khayyam Tomb. Visit his tomb, a simple building dating back to the 1970s, surrounded by a garden and also a gallery from his instruments. Then we have time to walk in turquoise Bazar. Then visit the tombs of Attar and Kamal –ol Molk. Return to Mashhad.
