Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day, Tehran
Arrive at Tehran international airport, meet our friendly agent, and transfer to the hotel. After taking a rest, if time permits, we can have a half-day city tour in Tehran to visit the National Museum, Golestan palace, and the Grand Bazaar of Tehran. Overnight in Tehran.
Day 2: Tehran
After having breakfast, we start our handicraft experience journey. We want to get familiar with Iranian and Persian carpets, the most beautiful ones in the world. These carpets are hand-woven using traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation. Iranian carpets are not just carpets; they are works of art that show the beauty and creativity of the Iranian people. Well, we start by visiting the Tehran Carpet Museum. There, we can see varieties of carpets from different parts of Iran that date back to varying periods. The carpets' completion process, from past days up to now, can be observed there, too. Now, it’s time to learn a little about carpet weaving and try to knot the warp and weft of a colorful carpet, so we need a carpet workshop to do it. In the afternoon, we continue our day by going to the northern part of the capital and having a light trek in Darband or Darakeh, visiting Tajrish bazaar, and based on time, Tabiat Bridge (nature bridge), overnight in Tehran.
Day 3: Tehran- Shiraz
After having breakfast, transfer to the airport to fly to Shiraz. Start the Shiraz Day tour by visiting Nasiral Molk mosque (pink mosque), Narenjestan Palace, and Zandiyeh complex (Vakil mosque, Vakil Bazaar, Sarai Moshir, and Karim khan Citadel). Today is our first handicrafts day in Shiraz. While visiting the Karim khan Citadel, we can see the workshop of Khatam, located in the citadel’s yard. Khatam working is a traditional Persian craft still practiced today in Shiraz. It is a traditional Persian woodworking technique used to create different designs on objects such as boxes, frames, and furniture. The artist cuts small pieces of wood, bone, and metal into geometric shapes and uses them to create patterns that include stars, flowers, and other forms. This work is very detailed, so it takes lots of time and shows the skill and creativity of the local artists who continue to keep this ancient craft alive. You can visit, buy, and even try this art in this workshop. overnight in Shiraz.
Day 4: Shiraz
It’s time for another handicraft experience in Shiraz. Today we want to have a mixture of nature, art (handicrafts), and visiting the villager’s lifestyle together. We will drive to Abgarm village, one hour away from Shiraz. There, you can try drawing on wooden or metallic objects to challenge yourself in new and creative ways. It is a unique and exciting kind of art that is popular worldwide. After completing your artwork, you can take it home or even use it as a souvenir of your trip. Overnight in Shiraz.
Day 5: Shiraz-Persepolis- Yazd
We will drive to Yazd and, along the way, have a tour of Persepolis and Necropolis. Keep going to the Yazd. Have a light trek to visit Jame Mosque and go to Amirchakhmaq Square. Overnight in Yazd.
Day 6: Yazd
Today we have another city tour in Yazd, visiting the Zoroastrian Tower of Silence and the Fire Temple. We will go to Satrapy Studio in the afternoon to see the third handicraft-based attraction, Terme Baafi. It’s good to know that the city of Yazd has a long history of textile production, and Darayee Baafi and Terme Baafi are the most famous ones. Terme is a traditional handwoven textile commonly used for clothing and home decor. Terme Baafi is creating Terme by weaving threads together on a loom. The materials used for the lines include silk, wool, and cotton, and the designs are different. It is a time consuming and highly skilled craft. You can visit this kind of rich textile in various colors and witness the changes in its creation process from the past up to now. Then we will go to the Darayee Baafi workshop. It is the other traditional textile weaving technique that is practiced in the city of Yazd and has been passed down through generations. What sets Darayee Baafi apart is the unique set of patterns and designs specific to this craft. It is used for various purposes, including clothing, home decor, and accessories. They are known for durability, quality, and the beauty of their designs. In this workshop, you can see how it is created and also get involved in its creation. This way, you can have a distinct experience of craftsmanship in which all your skills, tastes, and delicacies are used. Overnight in Yazd.
Day 7: Yazd- Meybod- Isfahan
Drive to Isfahan and have a short stop in Meybod to visit the Shah Abbasi Caravanserai. There is our next handicraft stop. In its yard, you can see the Ziloo workshop. Ziloo is another traditional textile weave that originated in Meybod. What makes ziloo unique is its specific patterns and designs. Ziloo textiles have a variety of uses, including rugs, wall hangings, and decorative pieces. They are known for their durability and the cultural heritage they represent. These beautiful textiles can be purchased as souvenirs. Then we will also visit another craftsman's workshop within a short distance. There you can experience pottery, which has a rich history in Iran that dates back thousands of years. Various regions are known for their unique pottery styles and techniques. In this workshop, you have the opportunity to witness skilled artists at work. You can try your hand at making pottery under experienced potters' guidance by shaping clay on the pottery’s wheel, applying glazes, and firing the pottery in kilns. Then take what you have created for yourself. If time permits, we can also visit Kaboutar Khaneh (pigeon tower) and Narin Castle, keep going to Isfahan, and overnight in Isfahan.
Day 8: Isfahan
Today we step into the city by visiting the palace of forty columns, or Chehel Sotoun belongs to the Safavid era, the world heritage site of Naghsh-e-Jahan Square, which is surrounded by two beautiful mosques, the Shah and Sheikh Lotfollah Mosques, the splendid Aliqapu Palace, and the Old Bazaar of Isfahan named Qaysarieh. Then we will go to a Mina Kari workshop in Isfahan. Mina Kari is the traditional Iranian art of painting and decorating metal surfaces, and it has a long history in Iran. It reflects Iran's rich history and craftsmanship and has been used to decorate various objects, including jewelry, vases, plates, etc. In this workshop, you will experience a welcoming atmosphere and try your hand at painting enamel on a small metal piece under the guidance of skilled artists allows you to appreciate the skill and accuracy required in this art form. You can bring a part of Persian culture home by choosing this craft as your souvenir. Overnight in Isfahan.
Day 9: Isfahan- Tehran
After breakfast, visit the ancient bridges (Si-o-se pol and Khaju), Jolfa Armenian Quarter with its lovely cathedral Vank, and the Jame Mosque. Then drive to Tehran. Overnight in Tehran.
Day 10: Tehran (Departure Day)
